Run Fit Running Club wants to improve the health and fitness within our local communities by partnering with local businesses and community organizations to work together in a positive manner to promote running as a healthy exercise and sport.
As a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, we want to do our part to make Central Ohio a runner-friendly community by recognizing Runner Friendly businesses in the area. Here are just a sample of some common traits that Runner Friendly businesses exhibit:
- Runner Friendly Businesses (coffee shops, restaurants, other merchants, etc) are engaged with the running community. They may host group runs or offer discounts to local running club members; In some cases, they may be willing to serve as a pre or post run meeting spot; host a training seminar; share their parking lots during non-business hours; allow runners to use their bathroom facilities as needed; serve as safe places that runners can stop at if they need to use the phone or get out of unsafe weather, or fill a water bottle to prevent dehydration; or support clubs through sponsorships including in-kind donations, publicity, etc.
As a running club, we can offer running club group training discounts for your employees and staff (5 or more to receive discount), free guest presentations from our running coach at a company event, identification of your business on our website as a Runner Friendly Business and give you a window cling sticker that you can hang in your window recognizing you as a Runner Friendly Business. Runners love to support businesses that support them.
For charity organizations who organize charity races, we can offer our training services to your runners (club fees still apply) to help your runners train for your event. This helps motivate and encourage runners to sign up for your event and make it their goal. We can also add your race to our event calendar to promote your race. Need help organizing a race? We can recommend a local race management company to help you. We do not organize races, but we know a few companies that do.
For local community Park and Recreation Departments, we can provide free running clinics, adopt-a-trail volunteers and work with you to promote your parks and trails. (At this time we are limited to communities on the North side of Columbus e.g Lewis Center, Westerville, Powell, Dublin, Worthington, Gahanna, New Albany, Columbus, North Side, etc.
At Run Fit Running Club, we look forward to working with the communities and businesses that we run in. If you have any ideas on how we can help your business or organization, please let us know.
